Top cruising and yachting suggestions
There is no better way to experience the diversity and authentic tranquility of the Indonesian archipelago than to travel by sea. This offers a privileged look at some of the most beautiful and remote corners of the country and a chance to meet the incredibly cheery and wonderful people who live on pristine shores that are difficult to reach by road and rarely visited. Indonesia was made to go island hopping and when you go sailing, each day and each island will bring another flashback to the time when the archipelago was known as the East Indies.
Top Indonesia Holidays has surveyed the Indonesian seascape as carefully as its landscape and as an avid sailor Sugeng takes pride in his thorough knowledge of the cruising and the yachting scene. We are preferred partners to several operators of traditional schooners and have developed close working relationships with a number of private yacht owners by arranging charters for families or for groups of friends traveling together. For those who love sailing vessels there are basically two options; either join a scheduled cruise on one of the traditional converted Bugi schooners, or charter a private yacht and set your own route. The yachts always come with crew. There are no bare-boating companies since the sailing conditions in the most interesting areas, such as Komodo and Krakatoa are rather challenging and do require thorough local knowledge. Yet, while the currents may occasionally be strong, the weather is always fabulous!
