Scuba Diving
Our breathtaking inner and outer reefs boast a plethora of dive sites, all vibrantly alive with pristine coral species and a vast variety of marine life. See hawksbill and green sea turtles, moray eels, lionfish and more in Amanwana Bay or discover myriad site on three large reefs close to Labuan Aji, just a 10- to 15-minute boat ride from Amanwana. Several corals date back over a century, making these reefs some of the best preserved in the world.
Barry's Falls
Known as Mata Jitu or Barry’s Falls after the naturalist, Barry Lees, who helped find the perfect setting for Amanwana, this spectacular waterfall is an example of nature at its finest. It comprises a series of cascading limestone pools at the very heart of the island deep in the tropical forest. The spring-fed water of the pools is as pure as it comes, perfect for a drink and a refreshing swim to escape the heat.
Water Sports
Challenge your balance on a stand-up paddle board, catch the breeze while windsurfing, give your arms a workout kayaking along the coastline or try your hand at deep sea fishing or traditional bottom fishing to catch your dinner. Amanwana’s water sports team is always on hand to assist with equipment or arrange a special excursion.
Cruises
Amanwana’s traditional outrigger and its fleet of boats are available for guests to explore the wonders of the island’s surrounding seas. Guests can enjoy half day cruises to explore Moyo’s coastline or discover some of the best snorkelling sites in Moyo Satonda National Park. Sunrise and sunset cruises are easily arranged, and starlight experiences adrift in the bay offer literal immersion in the night sky – as many stars above as reflected below.
