Komodo Tours
This UNESCO World Heritage Site is home to the famous Komodo Dragons that reside in the two islands of Komodo and Rinca Island. The park includes the three larger islands of Komodo, Padar and Rinca and 26 smaller islands with several inhabited virgin beaches where pristine flora & fauna remain intact. A part of the Coral Triangle Center, Komodo National Park also possesses rich marine biodiversity and is often dubbed as one of the, if not the best place to dive & snorkel in the world. Discover the beauty and varieties of these unspoiled natural wonders.
Komodo Island
The island hosts about 2,500 Komodos that can be found roaming freely in the wild.
Enjoy the breathtaking vista both terrestrial and underwater in Komodo Island. Venture into a trekking exploration crossing its distinct dry savannah with rising Palmyra palm (lontar) trees to greet these prehistoric creatures in its natural habitat. The medium long trek will take about 1 to 1.5 hours passing through the hilly forest and the waterholes where you may see Timor deer or wild pigs, with the dragons can often be found nearby preying.
Padar Island
Padar is located between Komodo and Rinca, often dubbed as the best place to hike in the area and currently on trend with visitors to the region due to its unique view of tri-colored beaches from the top of the hill.
The main point of attraction is hiking to the viewpoint from which you could see the breathtaking view of the whole island. From the top, the rugged brown peaks of the dry savannah set as a contrasting background for the natural blends of the tri-colored beaches of gray, white, and pink before flowing seamlessly into the turquoise ocean.
Please bear in mind, that hiking in Padar Island is considered as medium level that may take up to one hour of fairly steep uphill to complete. Usage of proper trekking shoes is highly recommended.
Pink Beach
The Pink Beach of Komodo Island, as it is aptly named, possesses pinkish shore and is one of the seven pink beaches that exists in the world This exceptional beach gets its striking color from microscopic animals called Foraminifera, which produce a red pigment on the coral reefs.
The beach is situated in an uninhabited island, which gives in to its unspoiled location. The atmosphere in this beach is so serene and is one of a must-stop beach after trekking in Komodo Island. Indulge in the art of doing nothing in this beach as you bask the panoramic views of turquoise seas, green rolling hills, blue skies and fascinatingly pink sands. Jump to the turquoise water for a leisurely swim or snorkel deeper to enjoy the vibrant underwater gardens with variety of corals and fishes swimming calmly in the shallow waters surrounding the beach.
