Turgp Hill
Located in the south of Mount Merapi and has a height of up to 1000 meters above sea level, Turgo Hill is a small basaltic hill. Basaltic is an extrusive igneous rock, formed by solidification of magma that occurs on the earth surface. It normally appears to be gray or black in color because it freezes quickly.
Start Hiking through The Local Village
Start your hiking journey, you will walk pass through the local village and step few steep stairs up. It may require a medium fitness level for those who are considered to be fit, and heavy who are otherwise.
Witness The Great Lava
Congratulations! You are up and about! Enjoy the magical view of the lava. The volcanologist will facilitate you with some equipments required to see the lava. He owns a seismograph to detect the lava fall and can be accessed through a stand-by camera.
